The vasopressin:
It is otherwise termed as the antidiuretic hormone (ADH). Its main function is the retention of water within the body by acting on the renal tubules. ADH raises the permeability of the distal tubules and gathering ducts and encourages the re-absorption of water from the renal filtrate.
