Glaucoma:

Glaucoma is a severe disorder of the eye and is a general cause of blindness. Raised IOP (i.e., Increased Occular Pressure) compresses the optic nerve at optic disc with degeneration of optic nerve fibers and cupping of the optic discs with progressive loss of visual acuity beginning with peripheral vision. The retinal artery that enters the eye ball at the optic disc is compressed causing retinal degeneration. In most situations the cause of glaucoma is unknown though in some situations it might be due to infection or trauma in the eye. Whenever the IOP is very high (i.e., 50 to 70 mm Hg) blindness takes place in few days.

Nyctalopia:
