Introduction to NASA Model

NASA National aeronautics and space administration, model is basically used in the development of large scale system and has a well developed development life cycle.

NASA SWDLC model is also called as the NASA software acquisition life cycle.

Its basic structure is shown in fig2.14.

The basic functionalities of all the phases are same, but some of the naming conventions are changes. The major seven phases of this model are:

2. Analysis

3. Preliminary Software Design

4. Detailed Software Design

5. Implementation and Unit Testing

6. Software Integration and Testing

7. Acceptance Testing

Only one difference is there that FCA is performed at implementation and unit test its advantages are similar as of DOD SWDLC model.
