Trypanosomes:

Trypanosomes are microscopic flagellate protozoan which infect the blood and other body fluids of humans. There are two closely associated morphologically identical species of “human” trypanosomes, Trypanosoma brucei gambiense and Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense. Both are transmitted by numerous species of blood sucking fly found only in tropical Africa, of the genus Glossina, termed as tsetse fly.
