Group 17 - The Halogen Family:

Group 17 of the periodic table have elements fluorine, bromine, chlorine, iodine and astatine. These are collectively termed as HALOGENS.  It is derived from two Greek words Halo and Gens means “Salt producer”. Since most of them subsist in Sea water.
