Introduction to Radar:
A radar system contains a transmitter which produces radio waves. While they come into contact along with an object they are spread in all directions. So, the signal is partly imitated back and it contain a little change of wavelength (and so frequency) if the target is moving. The receiver is generally, but not all the time, in similar location as the transmitter. Even though the signal returned is generally very weak, the signal can be amplified by use of electronic methods in the receiver and in the antenna configuration. This allows radar to detect objects at ranges in which other emissions, like sound or visible light, would be very much weak to detect. Radar uses involves measuring ocean surface waves, meteorological detection of precipitation, air traffic control, military applications, police detection of speeding traffic, or to simply determine the speed of a baseball.
In the year 1895, Alexander Popov, who is physics instructor at the Imperial Russian Navy School in Kronstadt, built an apparatus by using a coherer tube for detecting remote lighting strikes. In the next year that is 1896, he included a spark-gap transmitter. During the year 1897, when testing this in communicating among two ships in the Baltic Sea, he took note of an interference beat resulted through the passage of a third vessel. In the report of his, Popov wrote that this occurrence might be employed for detecting objects, but he did nothing more with this observation.
