Introductoin to Audio Visual Equipments:
Gramophone:
Gramophone is a type of record player. The sound that is stored in the place is converts in to an electrical note through a tone arm. It is employed to hear the songs and music, that is why it is called record player.
Recording Technique:
The significant parts of a gramophone are as follow:
1. Turn table
2. Tone arm
3. Pick up head
4. Motor
5. Speed regulator
1. Turn Table
Turn table is a round made through aluminum or steel that is all the time in rotation. This table is not directly connected to the motor. In touch with the rim of the rotating plate there is a rubber wheel. The wheel's diameter is less than the rotating disc. As well the diameter of the motor axis is small. Some rotations in the axis create one rotation in the wheel and some rotations in the wheel create one rotation in the disc. So the rotation transfers to disc from motor. Thus any high speed in the motor rotation, provides just a slow rotation in the disc recording plates are located on the disc.
2. Tone Arm
It is a handle part that has a touch with player. This arm has a pick up head on cartridge. By using the tone arm the songs that are recorded are converted in to electrical waves through making a friction along with the player. That electrical wave is provided to the input of the amplifier. There is a spring that is employed move the needle uniformly. Thus, the tone arm moves smoothly on the record player although has several up and downs.
3. CRYSTAL (Pickup Head)
Crystal is in the tip of the tone arm. The crystal is employed for convert the sound into electrical wave.
Motor is a blower or universal motor has specific speed with low voltage. A number of players contain DC motors.
5. Speed Regulator
The speed of the player is controlled by the speed regulator. It is as well employed for alter the speed in the range of 16RPM, 35RPM, 45RPM and 78RPM. The meaning of this is that if we change the switch in position 45rPM it has 45 rotations per minute.
