Bracts and Bracteoles:
Bracts are extraordinary leaves at whose axil flowers build up. For illustration in an axillary flower, the leaf from whose axil the flower generates becomes the bract. However bracts are not always existed. When a bract is found, the flower is termed as bracteate; when it is not present then the flower is explained as ebracteate. Whenever bracts are present, they protect flower buds in the young phase. At times small and thin bract-like structures are existed on the pedicel among the flower and the bract. These are termed as bracteoles. The bracteoles might be one or two in number. The flowers containing bracteoles are explained as bracteolate and flowers where bracteoles are not present are termed as ebracteolate.
