The wireless control message protocol offers an error handling mechanism for the WDP and must therefore be implemented. WCMP consists of the control messages, which resemble the internet control message protocol for IPv4, messages and may also be used for the diagnostic and informational purposes. WCMP may be used by the WDP nodes and gateways in order to report the error.
