What is varices
What is meant by the varices? Why they are common within the inferior limbs?
Expert
Varix refers to the abnormal enlargement of the veins. Varices happens while the extreme pressure against the normal blood flux results in the enlargement of veins and therefore the insufficient functioning of its valves. Varices are generally more common in veins of inferior limbs as the fluid column above these vessels is usually higher. This explains the reason why people which spend much time standing are more susceptible to varices. Generally, the varices are not palpable superficial veins which appear within the leg in the patients suffering from the varix. These perceptible vessels are result of the internal varices within the deep internal veins of legs and they appear since the blood flux is diverted to the superficial veins.
