Strategic management is defined as the set of managerial decisions and actions which calculate the long-run performance of the corporation. It involves the environmental scanning, strategy implementation, strategy formulation, evaluation and control. The study of strategic management thus underlines the monitoring and evaluation of the external opportunities and threats within the light of strengths of the corporation and its weaknesses.
