SCSI is defined as the Small Computer System Interface, is a kind of interface used for the computer components like hard drives, optical drives, scanners and the tape drives. SCSI refers to a faster, more robust technology in comparison to the IDE and SATA, and has traditionally been used in servers. Aside from the speed, other large benefit over IDE and SATA is that the SCSI card may connect 15 or more devices within the daisy chain. The controller allocates every device its own SCSI ID, enabling for large flexibility towards expanding any system. It is more costly. It is not required for the home purpose.
