Explain what is meant by the term Hardware?

Hardware is defined as a device which is physically linked to the computer or something which can be physically touched. Most hardware generally contains ICs, circuit board, and other electronics. Perfect example of the hardware is a computer monitor that is an output device. Without hardware, the computer would not exist, and software could not be able to function. There is a webcam and an example of the external hardware peripheral which enables users to form the videos or pictures and transmit them over Internet.
