What is Computer Integrated Manufacturing or CIM

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM): It is a combination of separate applications, like computer aided design (abbreviated as CAD), computer aided engineering (abbreviated as CAE), and computer aided manufacturing (abbreviated as CAM), robotics, and manufacturing resource planning (abbreviated as MRP-II). Its main objective is to streamline the manufacturing processes and to integrate them with other business functions (like accounting, distributing, financing, marketing and so on).
