The capacity of the antiserum consisting of different antibodies to combine with the whole antigen is known as avidity. Therefore, avidity is used for denoting the overall capacity of the antibody to join with the multivalent antigen.
A multivalent antigen has several kinds of the antigenic determinants, when this is injected in the blood every antigenic determinant stimulate the generation of the particular antibody.
