Coeloms are cavities bordered by the mesoderm. Coeloms originate the cavities where the interior organs of the body are situated, similar to the pericardial cavity, the pleural cavity and the peritoneal cavity. Besides coelomate animals, there are acoelomate animals, similar to pseudocoelomate and platyhelminthes animals similar to nematodes.
