Topic A:
What is the ultimate goal of yoga practice according to Patanjali, and how does it compare with the ultimate goal in the Buddhist practice? How do such steps of yoga practice of the concepts of prakriti and purusha are compare to the practice of the Eight-fold Noble Path? Which appears a more realistic and achievable path?
Topic B:
Compare the Hindu theory of atman and Buddhist no-self theory. Why is the idea of no-self very significant in Buddhism? Which of these do you find more plausible, and what are the reason?
Topic C:
Critically compute two Jewish responses to the Holocaust studied in this course (i.e. two of Rubenstein, Maybaum, Fackenheim, or Berkovits). Which of your selected thinkers provides the more convincing account and why so?
Topic D:
Define the term feminist Christology? Why do feminist Christians see the requirement for such an account? What do you think that Hampson right to think that no Christology can be both compatible with feminism and able to remain a within the bounds of orthodox Christian thought?
