There are three types of the muscle tissue: cardiac striated muscle tissue, skeletal striated muscle tissue and smooth muscle tissue.

The striated muscles present in microscopic view transversal stripes and their fibers (or cells) are multinucleate (in skeletal) or might have more than one nucleus (in the cardiac). The smooth muscle doesn’t present transversal stripes and it has spindle-shaped fibers each with one nucleus.
