Suction force of the plant cell
Explain suction force of the plant cell? Does the suction force facilitate or make hard the entrance of water into the cell?
Expert
The suction force (or SF) is the osmotic pressure of the plant cell vacuole, that is, of the vacuolar internal solution. As the vacuolar solution is hypertonic in comparison to cytosol it attracts water therefore increasing the cytosol concentration. With the osmotic act of the vacuole the cytosol becomes hypertonic in relation to the external and more water enters into the cell.
