a) Make a script or story for the animation.

c) Record a sound track.
d) Generate a detailed layout of the action.
e) Correlate the layout with the sound track.
f) Make the key frames of the animation. The key frames are such where the entities to be animated are in positions in such a way that the intermediate positions can be simply inferred.
g) Fill up the intermediate frames termed as in-between or tweening.
h) Prepare a trial film termed as a pencil test.
