For a moment imagine that there is some selection decision which results in 4 possible outcomes. As two of that outcomes could indicate accurate decisions, but rest of two would indicate errors.

Accurate decisions are those where the candidate was anticipated to be successful and later on it prove to become successful in his job, whereas the applicant was anticipated to be ineffective and would have accomplished accordingly if hired. In the former case, we have positively accepted where in the latter case, we have successfully rejected. Therefore, the determination of selection activities is to progress outcomes shown as “correct decisions.
