In search engine world, spam is stated as the manipulation of the web-page to give it an artificial boost in the ranking of search engine. Usually, the spam is what the search engines state it is. That is, it is stated by the search engines themselves. All the major search engines give specific guidelines explaining what webmasters must and should not do to their web pages in order to accomplish a better search engine ranking, although that has not for all time been the case.
