Scan design and generic forms of scan designs
Specify three generic forms of scan designs. Explain what is meant by the scan register?
Expert
Three generic forms of the scan designs are given as follows:
a) Full serial integrated scan
b) Isolated serial scan
c) Non-serial scan
Scan register is used to improve the Controllability/Observability. A scan register refers to the register having both the shift and parallel load capability. The storage cells within the register are used as observation points and/or control points.
