SATA or the Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) is the high speed serial interface developed in order to substitute IDE and EIDE drive standard SATA has the 7 pin connector. SATA transfer speed of the data up to 600 MB per second.
IDE or the Integrated Drive Electronics has a 40/80 pins connector. IDE transfer speed of the data up to 100/133 MB per second few time ago generally use IDE.
