The pulmonary veins are said to be the part of pulmonary circulation. They are the vessels which carry oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to heart. There exist four pulmonary veins, two which drain blood from the right lung and other two which drain from the left lung. The pulmonary veins emerge into the left atrium bringing arterial blood into the heart. Though they are the veins which carries arterial blood and not the venous blood.
