Protocol for getting a packet from source to destination

In the TCP/IP stack which protocol is responsible for getting a packet from source to destination and which is responsible for correcting errors in transmission? Which one does not run on a router? Why?

Application Layer (process-to-process): is responsible for getting a packet from source to destination.

Transport Layer (host-to-host): is responsible for error-correction.

Link Layer: not run on a router since it has to define the networking methods within the scope of the local network link on which hosts communicate without intervening routers.
