Profit maximization needs a purely competitive firm to manufacture at an output level where: (i) marginal revenue > marginal cost. (ii) marginal cost equals the competitive price. (iii) marginal cost is falling. (iv) marginal revenue < marginal cost. (v) average cost equals average revenue.
