Whenever a human is infected by antigen the particular antivenom is given to him/her and the action in opposition to the antigen occurs. Antivenoms can also be ordered as a preventive measure and, because it is basically made of specific immunoglobulins against a number of antigens, the procedure is an instance of passive immunization.
