How do plants resolve the problem of the transporting substances by their tissues?

In bryophytes substance transport is completed by diffusion. In tracheophytes (pteridophytes, angiosperms and gymnosperms) there are specialized in the conductive vessels, xylem that takes mineral salts and water and the phloem which conducts organic material (sugar).
