Plant cell-hypotonic medium
How does plant cell wall reacts when it’s placed under the hypotonic medium?
Expert
The plant cell wall (or the covering of cell external to cell membrane) is made up of cellulose, or a polymer of the glucose. When the cell is put under the hypotonic medium it absorbs too much water by the osmosis. In that condition the cell wall pressure acts to compensate osmotic pressure therefore forbidding excessive raise of the cellular volume and cell lysis.
