Oxygen-bound haemoglobin is also known as oxy-haemoglobin. In lungs, the concentration of the oxygen is higher and thus, there exist a higher concentration of the oxy-haemoglobin. In peripheral tissues, situation is reverse, the oxygen concentration is lowand there is more free haemoglobin.
