Intracellular digestion takes place by the action of lissome. Lissome contain digestive enzymes (or hydrolases) which are made up in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and stored in Golgi apparatus. Lissome are hydrolase-containing vesicles which detach from the Golgi apparatus.
