Nymphs are known as larvae of hemimetabolic insects. They are same as the adult insect though smaller. In holometabolic insects like butterflies, larva forms a cocoon also known as chrysalis, pupa where it lives until it turns into adult form. Imago is the name which is given to adult form of insects with indirect development.
