Neurons and Glial cells can be defined as the cells that make up the nervous system. Neurons are the cells which have the function of transmitting and receiving the neural impulses and glial cells namely, astrocytes, ependymal cells, microgliacytes and oligodendrocytes. These cells are the cells which support, feed and insulate the neurons. The Schwann cells which produce the myelin sheath of peripheral nervous system can also be considered as the glial cells.
