Mode Superposition Method
Define Mode Superposition Method in brief?
Expert
Mode Superposition Method:For most types of loadings, the contributions of various modes usually are greatest for the lowest frequencies and tend to reduce for the higher frequencies. Therefore, it is usually not necessary to include all the higher modes of vibration in the mode superposition process. In addition, the mathematical idealization of any complex structural system tends to be less reliable in predicting the higher modes. Thus, the number of modes in a dynamic analysis should naturally be limited to the lower modes.
Water flows via a control volume as illustrated in the figure below. At Section (1) the diameter is 40 mm and the velocity profile is given by the V(r) = 10 (4 – r2) m/s, here r is the distance from the centerline. At Section (2) the mass flow r

Draw a frequency-response curves for a damped single degree of freedom system subjected to a harmonic excitation under three different damping ratios. System has a natural frequency of ωn as the forcing frequency of the excitation is ω. Describe
A horizontal pipe of dimension 540 mm diameter carrying 0.6 m3/s splits into two horizontal pipes of 300 mm diameter with 60% of the flow and another of 150 mm diameter with 40% of the flow. Find out the magnitude and direction of the force
