Mammals of monotreme group like platypus, echidnas are egg-laying, oviparous, and they don’t have placenta. Mammals of marsupial group example: kangaroos, koalas, opossums, don’t have placenta either; females belonging to this group gave birth to the embryonic young which then continue its development in the mother’s pouch. Placenta is  formed in the female placental mammals.
