There exist two types of errors:
a) Single-bit error.
b) Burst-bit error.
Single bit error: The term single bit error signifies that only one bit of the given data unit (just like byte character/data unit or packet) is altered from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1.
Burst error: It specifies that two or more bits within the data unit have altered from 1 to 0 from 0 to 1.
