Is cell division taking place during the whole cell cycle? And also write down a brief explanation of interphase?

Cell division properly takes place throughout the mitotic phase of cell cycle. During interphase processes which are a preparation to cell division happen, like the replication of DNA as well as of centrioles. Interphase is the earlier phase and mitotic is the subsequent phase.
