Interpersonal communication can be defined as the method by which two or more than two persons interact or communicate with each other. There are different types of interpersonal communication. They are-dynamic communication, small group communication and public speaking.

The three models of communication are:

1. Shanon and weaver’s model.
2. Schramm’s model of communication.
3. A helical  model of communication.

Benefits:

1. Snanon and weaver’s model

  • It is most widely used model for low –level communication.
  • Can be considered as one of the method to explain clearly human communication.
  • It has gone through many significant developments positively from the last few decades.

2. Schramm’s model of communication

  • It included feedback.
  • It also included context and culture.

3. Helical model

  • It is not so interesting.
  • Moreover, it is more sophisticated in nature.

Limitations

1. Shanon and weaver’s  model

  • Sometimes only part of the information is conveyed which is not at all good.
  • It is basically formal in  nature.

2. Schramm’s model of communication

  • less linear.
  • more complex.

3. Helical model

  • It usually generates question.
  • involves few variables
