There exist right and the left lungs which is made up of alveoli where gas exchange (taking in oxygen and release of carbon dioxide) takes place; lungs are enclosed within the pleura (a serous membrane). The airway comprehends the nose, the larynx, the pharynx, (including the vocal cords), the bronchi, the trachea, and the bronchioles.
