The organs that are part of human respiratory system are broadly divided into three groups:
a) Lungs,
b) Airway and
c) Respiratory muscles.
There exist right and the left lungs which is made up of alveoli where gas exchange (taking in oxygen and release of carbon dioxide) takes place; lungs are enclosed within the pleura (a serous membrane).
