Grasslands might be classified in savannahs and steppes. In steppes, the existing vegetation is grass, like in pampas of the South America and in prairies of North America. The fauna is mostly formed by the herbivores, like ungulates and rodents. The savannahs present and exists undersized trees, like for instance the Brazilian cerrado or African savannahs.
