Only 0.5 to 1 percent of the glomerular filtrate is removed as urine. The remaining volume, containing mostly metabolic ions, amino acids, glucose, and water, is resorbed via the nephron tubules (by means of passive or active transport) and gains the blood circulation again.

The convolute tubules of nephron are accountable for the resorption of substances.
