Epidermis and nervous system contain similar embryonic origin: the ectoderm. The epidermal appendages (similar to nails, sweat glands, hair, and sebaceous glands), the mammary glands, the cornea, the adenohypophysys, the crystalline lens and the retina are as well derived from ectoderm.
