Runtime engine of the WF offers the essential functionality to perform and administer the workflow lifetime. It runs in the host process and is also responsible for executing every workflow instance. Host process can cooperate with numerous runtime engines at a time, where each engine carries out several workflow instances. Host process relates with runtime engine via any of the classes that are shown below:

• WorkflowServiceHost – It hosts workflows and permits sending and receiving messages between different instances of the workflows.

• WorkflowInvoker – It raises the workflow as its method.

• WorkflowApplication – It controls execution of the single workflow instance explicitly.
