Neurons are cells which encompass the function of transmitting and getting neural impulses and glial cells (microgliacytes, astrocytes, ependymal cells and oligodendro-cytes) are the cells which support, insulate and feed (electrically) neurons. The Schwann cells which generate the myelin sheath of peripheral nervous system can also be considered the glial cells.
