TCP/IP protocol that supports the electronic mail over the Internet is termed as the Simple Mail Transfer (SMTP). It refers to the system for transmitting the messages to other computer users on the basis of the e-mail addresses. SMTP offers the mail exchange between the users over the same or the different computers.
