The features of Shadow mask method are as follows:

a) They generate a broader range of colors.

b) Consists of three phosphor color dots at each and every pixel position.

c) One emits red light, the other emits green light and the third emits the blue light.

d) Three beams are deflected and focused as the group onto the shadow mask that consists of a series of holes aligned with the phosphor dot patterns.

e) Whenever the three beams passes via a hole in the shadow mask, they activate dot triangle that appears as the small color spot on screen.
