IDEA (or International Data Encryption Algorithm) is second version of the block cipher which is intended and presented by the Lai and Massey. It is the 64-bit iterative block cipher with the 128-bit key as well as eight rounds. While cipher is not Feistel, decryption is taken out in the same way as encryption once the decryption subkeys have been computed from the encryption subkeys. The cipher structure was intended to be easily executed in both software and hardware, and security of IDEA relies on employ of three incompatible kinds of arithmetic operations on the 16-bit words. The speed of the IDEA in software is same to that of DES.
