A base transceiver station or BTS or cell site is defined as a piece of the equipment which facilitates the wireless communication between the user equipment (UE) and a network. UEs are the devices such as mobile phones (handsets), WLL phones, computers with the wireless internet connectivity, WiFi and WiMAX gadgets and so on. The network may be that of any of the wireless communication technologies such as CDMA, GSM, WLL, WAN, WiFi, WiMAX and so on. BTS is also known as the radio base station or RBS, node B (in the 3G Networks) or, simply, the base station (BS).
