Expert
Windows services, earlier called as NT services, are applications which are installed on a system as the system services. Or we can say, Windows services are the applications which run in background with a Windows operating system. Main use of the Windows services is to decrease the consumption of the memory needed for performing the backend operations. Suppose we want to carry out a variety of functions, like monitor the performance of our computer or application, check status of the application, and administer various devices, like printers.
In this a case, we could use Windows services to decrease the memory consumption. Windows services can run on our system even if we have not logged on to our computer.
